Why practise here
- Written from your state's handbook. Every question comes from the current official handbook, and every answer says which section it's in, so you can check it.
- The real format. The exam simulator uses your state's published number of questions and pass mark; where a state doesn't publish them, it says so and uses 25 questions at the state's pass mark. Pass it three times in a row and you're ready.
- Learns your weak spots. It remembers your mistakes in your browser, with no account, and gives you more practice where you need it.
- Free, with nothing locked. No sign-up, no premium plan, no ads. Print the tests as PDFs too.

Questions
Are these practice tests free?
Yes, completely: every test, the exam simulator, the study modes and the printable PDFs. There is no sign-up and no paid version.
Are these the real DMV test questions?
No practice site has the real questions; agencies keep them confidential. We write our own from your state's official driver handbook, which is what the real test is based on, and give the handbook section for every answer.
How many questions are on the DMV permit test?
It depends on the state, from about 20 to 50. Our test facts page compares every state's number of questions and passing score.
15,197 practice questions so far. Independent: not affiliated with any DMV or government agency.
